As a result, the media gets dumbed down and someone like Trump easily runs circles around them, where they simply cannot help but give him free publicity that helps him. I feel like this not quite the right take. I'm no expert so I could just be wrong, but doesn't giving publicity to Trump also in turn help the media corporations, since it's giving them stories to report on which people will read?
