This topic makes a point of saying that the guy has been charged, but the $400,000 that they were using as a reward for her safe return is now going towards the investigation to "catch anyone responsible for her death" - it sounds to me like they've detained a main suspect, but they're still putting out feelers and working to get a better understanding of the murder. Could be wrong, definitely not a police/forensics expert or whatever the fuck, so any useful info that isn't "he fucking did it you slimy liberal fuck" would be appreciated on the matter.

If the illegal immigrant did it, then he did it. Throw the book at him, chuck him in jail, deport him - whatever. But from what I read in this article, they're still investigating the cause of death and looking into any other possible leads. One guy has been detained and charged, but I'm not calling anything until they close the case, put this guy on trial and convict him of murder. If he is responsible, then he deserves to be hit with the full force of the law - right now seems to still be early days.

Again - I'm a bit ignorant on matters like these, I'm just going off of the idea that they're still looking into this with that $400,000. Any non-inflammatory commentary on the matter would be appreciated to help me better understand the situation, and the legal standing of the illegal immigrant regarding this crime.
