Magic didn't invent the idea of card packs and cards with different levels of rarity, but it definitely applied it to the idea of card games in ways that created a phenomenal and unrealized revenue model that other companies hungered to exploit for themselves. If the claim is that the imitators copied the distribution, that's kind of a weak inspiration and a bit of a stretch to blame everything on MtG. It's certainly not on par with anime having its roots in Disney. Mead posted...
