What do you think he should be charged with and how many years? if any Depends on whether he meant to kill him. A man has a right to defend his property against thieves. If he chased the guy down and the thief decided to fight him instead of giving the wallet back, sounds like self-defense. However, if he already had the guy subdued and was taking some revenge, that's not as defensible.
