Zeus can you think of a time that youve expressed a left leaning opinion on this board?

To be fair, I usually come across like a really reactionary Conservative in political topics on this board, but that's mostly because when you're trying to play Devil's Advocate/be a contrarian and most of the people on the board skew more towards the lunatic fringe of the Left, you're going to start looking Far Right just by virtue of comparison.

Conversely, I used to hang out with a few AnCaps back in the day, and by comparison I came across as being the Leftist Lefty who ever Lefted.

I wouldn't call myself a pure Centrist (I probably do skew slightly more Right than Left), but I also fall pretty comfortably on the "liberal" side of any number of social issues. Enough that I wouldn't refer to myself as a Conservative in the political sense (I'd probably refer to myself more as a libertarian, but that's kind of been tainted as a label by American politics and the Internet in general as well).

But I'll happily shit on both Republicans and Democrats, because I don't think either adequately represent their implied constituency, do an effective job of achieving their claimed goals, or otherwise do anything other than militantly defend party politics over functional efficacy. Because of how two-party politics in a media age work, both have skewed more to the extremist outlier beliefs of their far wings, leaving a massive gap in the center where most of the actual population falls, leaving them to choose between the lesser of two evils every election.

Yet I still wind up taking the Right/Republican side more (as least via implication) on this board, because most of the people here who still bother bringing up politics at all are usually fellating the shit out of Democrats or bashing Republicans in general as if they're the sole problem, which sort of puts me in the position of having to point out that the Democrats also suck.

For all that people bitch and whine about Trump being President, it never would have happened if the Democrats had actually had a worthwhile candidate of their own and hadn't run Hillary against him. Be the change you want to see in the world, stop complaining about what "THE ENEMY" is doing and just be better.

Then all the actual Centrists can flock to your side and support you, and we can all dismiss the far-Right and the far-Left as being equally insane, and not constantly have to have dickwaving contests over whose side is better.
