I remember reading an article (but it might have been on some survivalist/conspiracy theorist website) that detailed how John Deere wanted to make new "owners" of tractors legally unable to resell or modify their property after purchasing it. For me, any company that tries to dupe you into buying something that isn't actually yours is destroying free market principles.
