If somebody signed up for an email address they were 8, 15 years later they'd only be 23. Meanwhile, a guy who didn't get one until they were 15 would have only owned theirs for 8 years when they were 23. It's a very poor proxy for age. Oh, plus older, non-office workers could have avoided getting an email address until relatively recently. So somebody who may have only had an email address for 5 years could be 50 or 60... although I can't imagine that those kinds of people would be on a gaming site in the first place.
