You don't lose the mastery for them do you? Well you don't lose your MR ranking when you sell them. But when you buy them and build them again, they're back to unranked and you have to level them up again (and re-forma/re-catalyst, if you did any of that previously). The second time around won't give you any additional xp towards your MR rank, though.
