Why is the US at odds with Russia? It seems like the 2 countries would be excellent allies against the wave of religious extremists in that corner of the world.
For the same reason we're not allied with China; because Russia's ruled by an obvious dictator who suppresses freedoms of speech & press, and has a cult of personality.
