Trans actors for the most part only get to play trans characters, so when a high profile movie featuring a trans main character comes along and they give it to Scarlet Johansson...well, it's sort of like if they made a movie with a dwarf as the main character, but then gave that role to Dwayne Johnson. It's like, yeah, they could probably make it work with CGI but why not just give that role to an actual dwarf Because it no longer becomes a high profile movie. So Scarlet Johansson is the only reason this is a high profile movie? I find that hard to believe That was the excuse with GITS too and look how hard it flopped.
