Do you really want to go back to the time when the middle class was only able to afford 1 tv, 1 car. Etc per household?

Considering how they also bought their house, yh pls.

Don't houses now cost approximately 10 cars? Has that ratio changed much in history?

A car:house price ratio could be interesting as they have non-overlapping economic burdens, both are modern essentials, and both would be equally affected by inflation.

Are you implying houses are affordable, but people just buy too many TVs?

No, I'm not implying - I'm asking. Was the car to house cost ratio the same in the early 60s when America was still riding the motor storm compared to modern housing bubble era costs.
