In the reboot she rejects a man who has a crush on her and she is very close to a Japanese girl so maybe I was so bummed out they didn't bring Sam back for Rise. It was nice seeing Lara with a real connection to someone, at least Jonah was there I guess but they don't have as much chemistry.
