Probably Black Mage for its AOE attacks. iirc, I mostly stuck with Black Mage as my job in Explorers. Granted, I liked Time Mage in FFT, Dark Knight & Paladin in FFIV + FFT, and I've always enjoyed Blue Mages. In general, if I'm playing a RPG, most of the time I'm going to be a mage unless there's a stealth component when I'm more likely to play a rogue-eque character (like a Khajiit Archer in the Elder Scrolls games, since Khajiit have a night-vision racial ability)
