Most people being loud and obnoxious don't give a shit about the people around them, they have no consideration. If they did, they wouldn't be making so much noise in the first place.
Some small % might legit not realize that they're annoying their neighbors, but it's not worth the personal risk to see if the people annoying you are that small %.

I try to endure a noise situation and 95% of the time it's over soon and I get on w/ my life, but if it goes on for a long time.... No scene, no confrontation. Just a private call to the police for a noise complaint. I don't want those inconsiderate fucks to know who called the police on them.

It's just usually...the fear is the person you call the police on will try to retaliate against you. Not call you a racist. I guess the end result is the same: fearing for your life just b/c you wanted quiet.

Yeah, I completely get that reasoning. However, I've always felt bad if I didn't try to resolve things first and, generally speaking, even if something is loud I've never phoned in a noise complaint -- mostly because nobody has done anything on a regular basis.

I genuinely wish those carried a minimum mandatory sentence of two years in prison. While I think this woman is a fucking bitch and deserves them on some level, I am so sick of people going nuts and just leveling serious things like that all the time. As a person who is easily annoying by sounds just like this, I get where she is coming from, and understand that you never know if the parents are going to be douche bags or not. I think everybody is in the wrong.

Even if they went to the trouble of tracking down people over death threats, they'd just be assholes in other ways. It doesn't address the underlying issue of people being assholes.
