In the early 2000s, it seemed everyone agreed that the PSX was far superior, and even GameCube had surpassed it. Not sure who you were talking to >_> While the GC is clearly the better system from a hardware standpoint, it was never as popular as the N64. And hardware in general doesn't necessarily determine success. The ps2 was the weakest system of its generation, yet it had the best overall showing thanks to a strong library.
