The N64 ran more smoothly than the ps1, it just never got the support. Plus, if you're talking unsuccessful Nintendo home consoles, the WiiU is always going to win that fight. The GC, which was a good console, was also never as popular as the N64.

I remember reading somewhere that out of a bunch of the console(N64 - Wii, I think) that the Wii was the only one that was successful. Like I guess to Nintendos standards.

The N64 greatly outsold the GC, but the GC was stupidly late to market and wasn't on market for that long. The N64 itself did pretty damn good, although the SNES outsold it and the NES outsold the SNES. The Wii was the first Nintendo home console to outsell the NES, which... idk.

Pretty sure that few people would seriously argue that the N64 wasn't successful.

If anything, people seem to praise it a lot more now. In the early 2000s, it seemed everyone agreed that the PSX was far superior, and even GameCube had surpassed it.

Not sure who you were talking to >_> While the GC is clearly the better system from a hardware standpoint, it was never as popular as the N64. And hardware in general doesn't necessarily determine success. The ps2 was the weakest system of its generation, yet it had the best overall showing thanks to a strong library. The ps1 ran like shit, but it also got massive support.
