They may install from the disc but that copy is mine. It can't be taken away if a license expires. Wrong. Even with a physical copy, you are only licensing the game. You do not own the game in any way, and if the publisher had legal cause to do so, your license could legally be revoked, leaving you with a useless piece of plastic. Now, the actual logistics of making that happen? It's not exactly practical. In practice, they're more likely to respond to you misusing the license by fining you. Legally, however, you have absolutely no right to the ownership of that game. Given your absurd paranoia regarding Steam, I'm surprised you haven't read more EULA's for the games you buy. dedbus posted... Don't you have to be online to turn on offline mode? Not usually. You do have to go online every two weeks or something like that to maintain it, but if you, say, open your laptop in a place that doesn't have wifi and want to play a Steam game, you can activate it then. --- This is my signature.
