Courtesy of digiplex, I have been watching the ENTIRE MCU, from the beginningish. Posting notes on here as I go. Just to be clear:

NO SPOILERS for anything that I haven't put a write-up for, so far. You can find the list of what I've watched so far at the end of this first post.

Last time, I said I was about to put my thoughts up for Hulk then got busy and the topic purged. I blame @GTM. But, continuing on...

The Incredible Hulk

It was not as terrible as people make it out to be. That said, it wasn't a good movie.

I think the general word is that it meandered. I didn't really care too much about what was going on. There was a little too much "show, don't tell", to where I was just waiting to actually be pulled in to the movie. It was pretty clear from the beginning - Ed Norton turned into Hulk. Hulk attacked his girlfriend. Hulk ran away. Ed Norton wants to not turn into Hulk. Ed Norton finds a way to stop turning into Hulk. Ed Norton banks on that not working as he plummets to death. He turns back into Hulk. Ed Norton then turns into Mark Ruffalo.

His girlfriend just left her new guy on a whim for Ed Norton. That sucked. She also should've died a few times, but didn't. I guess they wanted to avoid having a Peter Parker-esque origin story? Her dad was ruthlessly assholish towards Ed Norton, but changed his mind at the end because "oh shit, the not-Hulk is dangerous".

The action was ok. There was a lot of it, and it wasn't the most exciting thing. Kinda wish Hulk didn't say "Hulk smash", but I guess that's like having Iron Man not say "Avengers Assemble" or Spiderman not saying "go web" or Captain America not saying "Hail Hydra".

Abomination (that's his name, right?) was a solid villain. He was an action boy that wanted a good body and loved to fight. So much that the experimental treatments on him gave him a crazy high and he just wanted more. Went kinda crazy. That's pretty standard comic book fare. And what's his name, the Leader, some who-cares Hulk villain had a part to play too. Not that the Hulk would get another movie to use him in...

What I will say, is that Stan Lee's cameo was A+ in this movie. Old man that drinks the Hulk Blood and gets gamma poisoning. Excellent.

Ultimately, the best part of this movie was when RDJ showed up at the end as Stark. That... kinda makes me want to jump right into Iron Man 2. I think I'll do that before hitting up Agent Carter: S2.
