Every group has winners and losers. For every person doing worse than their parents, there's another doing better, it seems... it evens out, but there's definitely an erosion of the middle class that's been going on for a while now. Upper and lower are really just absorbing it.

No middle class kinda proves that it doesn't even out

How? If person A moves down and person B moves up, the net result is still balanced. There's a bigger winner and loser than before, but it doesn't seem very disproportionate in terms of numbers. The whole thing seems more merit based than anything else.

I definitely fall into the loser bracket, so it's not like I'm personally successful and knocking anyone else. My dad makes 5-figures per month. I'll never come close to matching that. I have friends who own multiple properties though, or at least a property, and many hold good positions at work or own a business.

Probably about half the people I mix with are business owners.

The SHRINKING middle class is highly indicative of this truth.
