I honestly don't feel like looking like a core necessarily matters all that much. Hell they could use the exact same sprites for what I'm concerned. Really though I think you could make em sufficiently different by using different hair colors and just making their attire closer to the FF1 sprites (red mage has white hair, white mage's hood hangs lower and has red hair, and black mage looks at an angle so you can see both of his eyes)-- most of the cores look more like FFV sprites really. --- No problem!
