Feels like ever since LN general disappeared, I haven't done a recommendation thing in a long long while

But if you're looking to see what the likes of edgy teens and Linkin Park listeners would totally be into, look no further than Nidome no Yuusha. A series so edgy that you'll get cut just reading it.

An isekai hero saves the world but is betrayed by his party member after he defeats the big bad. He swears revenge as he's dying, and the world informs him that that was just a fucking tutorial. Now it's basically his 3rd chance at life, and this time, he's out for revenge.

Cheesy as fuck and entertainingly violent. Only 3 chapters of it on manga form but I heard the LN is fairly far in, so it's something I'm definitely gonna have to see. I love a good edgy revenge story. It's sorta my kink

Hmm, been seeing the name around here and there, so I'll probably check it out.

On the other hand, I don't really have anything to recommend since most of the stuff I like aren't translated into English.

Been slowly making my way through MH World here, and while it's not as strong as an opening volume compared to Tamashii, it's great with its focus on the characters' interacting and adapting to environments they're not used to.

well really, marchen madchen fit my #1 requirement for battle series which is having powers based on stuff. and I don't just mean saying someone who shoots fireballs has powers based on fire or something dumb like that. beeing based on stories is cool, being based on historic figures is cool, being based on mythological weapons is cool, etc etc. Basically, if the character announces their name / their weapon name and you pause the show, go look it up on wikipedia, and the info you find there is actually relevant to what their abilities and combat style are, that's good.

It also means you can have fun trying to guess what certain characters are based on, or try to predict possible parts of their powers they may be keeping hidden

(on a related note pls recommend me these)

You know, now that I think about it, the Monster Hunter novels also do that to an extent with the characters' weapons and armor of choice.
Not based on other pre-existing stuff, but on the stuff contained within the games and/or spawned by the player base.
