The issue with this is that the bar for getting put on the sex offenders registry list is pretty low. People can get on that list for peeing outside, having consensual sex in a car, etc. They really need to tighten the leash on who gets on that list if they are making the restrictions more severe. Which is ultra funny since Canada also routinely lets murderers out and give much more lenient sentences overall than the US.
