I live in Olympia and have been to Tacoma (it's very close) a few times. Not a ton, but it's basically the same as Olympia, just a bit bigger.

It's crazy here though, especially in Olympia. I think Tacoma is more split between service industry and the army base, while Olympia is between goverment jobs and service industry. It's pretty much the same kinda divide , but tacoma may average a younger crowd (Since the gov jobs often go to older people).

Poly seems to be the norm around here, there are quite a few guys who are frustrated because they can't find a girl that wants to date just one person. Also same sex relationships (or bi relationships) are very common, maybe not as much as the bay area in CA, but....more then most places.

It rains a ton, and is cloudy often, which can make some of the populace a bit grumpy *lol*. Doesn't bother me, or many others, but it does have an affect on some.

Lots of art stuff going on usually in both cities...but....the food options in the area blow (Better in Tacoma though).

Shrug it's an ok place to live. I prefer the Bay Area, but...the cost of living there is about twice as much....probably because it's a great place to live.
