If they have anything original sure they count. If they cover a song that is from the 60's and are the earliest covers in the decades I am requesting then they are fine also.

As far as I'm aware, the only completely original song they did was a surprisingly dramatic song about air fresheners. Mostly they take songs from the first three Mega Man games (though they did release some other covers), remix them, add lyrics, blah blah blah. My favorite song of theirs is probably Gamma Unchained:

Which, you of all people, will note is pretty much just "Wily Stage 1 from Mega Man 3, albeit with lyrics and actual instruments"

The question is if all their additions and changes is enough to get around the "no cover" rule. If I could get away with it, I'd either go with Gamma Unchained (favorite song is favorite song) or..Bloody Tears from when they briefly covered some Castlevania music:

If only because the topic of Castlevania music has never come up in our conversations and I suspect you're less likely to immediately recognize it. I know I don't know enough about Castlevania music to guess which track it is; it's about Simon's Quest, so I figure it's from that game, but I've never cared to research it.
