TopicWhat should go on a pizza?

Basically my opinion is as follows.

The better the pizza, the less toppings it should have.

The best pizza needs just cheese, and is so good it's orgasmic. This requires a good sauce that is tasty, possibly slightly spicy (but not too spicey) and in most cases for me, has had a slight to mild onion flavor (doesn't have to, but I have found this is true for most of them).

The crust is the least important, but still important all the same. A good crust makes a huge difference and you need one in general to make a pizza that shines the most with just cheese. You can have a good pizza without a great crust, but the best pizzas have great crust as well.

The most important of course, is the cheese, and also the hardest by FAR to actually find. Cheese makes or breakes a pizza honestly, and the range is huge. Sauces can be good anywhere, crust as well seems to be something you can get in most towns if you look around. The cheese though....that is the tricky part and a really good cheese will allow you to have an insanely good just cheese pizza....so good you dream about it for years when you move away (Oh Porky's Pizza in San Leandro CA, how I miss you!!).
Seems in general there is something in the water that makes cheese better on the east cost and specifically NY, but....some places ship the cheese from there all over the world.

A good pizza without the best of the above, is still good with just cheese, but I don't mind and often prefer having pepporoni on it as well.

A bad pizza is often best as a supreme or with alot of toppings. If I ever eat what some call pizza (Pizza hut/Dominos etc) that is usually how I do it.

Finally there is pappa murphies. Not great, not awesome, but you can get one for $5 (a fav) with pepporoni already on, add your own shredded mozz and other topping and make a pretty good pizza at home, with whatever you want on it, for $6-7 max depending on your toppings. Cheap, and still pretty freaking good.
