Agreeing to go and then planning on going is a weird approach, which is likely why she broke it off with you.

I was thinking one of two things.

1) she's looking to make it as platonic as possible, which is fine, cause she's both a coworker and a cool chick so I'd be willing to hang out once just to see what happens, I'm sure I wouldn't be bored and it's possible that I make a new friend (whether it's her or someone at her house)

2) me backing out at other people being there makes me look creepy; if I was only willing to hang out with her alone, then it's weird, but if I'm comfortable enough to hang out with other people, then everything's a-okay. Sometimes girls test you by seeing how you do with their close company. The only time it's good to back out of a girl bringing friends is if it's VERY clearly the first date.

She said she'd make me food and bring it in tomorrow. I told her not to and that if she wanted to do all that, we should just get food.

I don't need some sort of consolation prize; I'll just take the L and leave it up to her to move things anywhere.

Also I said I was free that night before she said that, and I feel weird changing plans when I said I was free. Just in general. Even for guy friends, I don't like to flake for no reason.
