I'm sure the "true" experience of OoT and games like this is the problem-solving, exploration, and immersion. If it was 1998, I would sink 4 hours a night into it, every night, for a month until I discovered everything on my own. The problem is that I don't have the time to do that anymore, so anytime I am stuck for too long, I use good ol' A l e x's guide. And if it's a choice between a slightly watered down experience and taking an entire year to beat because life gets in the way, I think I'm okay with the former.
