I've owned plenty of English Staffies (which are often called "pitbulls"), they've always been extremely friendly and loving. It is entirely on the owner. In terms of public opinion like that, it's ignorance. It is NOT entirely on the owner. It is nature vs nurture... the dogs are naturally aggressive and powerful, but they can also be raised to be "nicer". They are predisposed to be violent... disagreeing with that is faulty logic.
