I mean I agree with the rest of your post, and your intent, but I think your math is off.
Maybe like... 20 years of experience.

I definitely realize that, and in all honestly, I don't find that to be at all absurd. Even with an associates degree, you can get an entry level position in politics and it shows your overall devotion to the job and the position you are aiming to gain. Also, a minimum of 45 doesn't mean exactly 45, because honestly, how many 35 year old presidents have we had or 40 years old even?

It's just a starting point.
