Man, there are some things about this area that are beautiful - the mountains, the puget sound, the fact that we built our cities inside temperate rainforests that tower over everything - but Hawaii is on another level. Probably true, but it was a crystal clear day on December 23rd, and we took a ferry with Mount Rainier in clear view - that was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. We took a hundred pics and none of them did it the faintest bit of justice. Also, I get the feelings that most bigger cities have a fairly active nerd culture these days.
