I feel like it comes down to luck at that point, because most players at that rank don't really misplay very often. It's all about matchups and who draws better. I spend a solid few hours not able to get out of the rank floor, then won a bunch in a row and now I've been sitting between 4 stars at rank 5 and 2 stars at rank 4 for awhile.
