Except no, especially given their tepid response to people burning down cities. They've been recorded standing by and watching things get torn down or destroyed, whereas most civilized nations -- and even uncivilized ones -- would break that shit up.

Seriously though, I think cops stateside need a major reminder that they are public servants not an army of occupation. We've given them military grade hardware and training and then we wonder why they now act more like soldiers than police. I blame the failed wars on "drugs" and "terror".


...the only problem with that assertion is that if a soldier acted like that, he'd be court-martialed.
