Except yes, it is a legal offense. I've been saying this all along. Teachers are government employees and are bound to legislation. I'm not a teacher in Connecticut, but in Alberta this falls under the "School Act", which is legislation that lays out the professional guidelines for teachers and students. A quick Google search into Connecticut laws regarding professionalism in teaching showed me that this is part of the "Connecticut General Statutes" (C.G.S.): C.G.S. 53a-71 "(a) A person is guilty of sexual assault in the second degree when such person engages in sexual intercourse with another person and: ...
