In other words normal.

It's like when people pronounce karaoke as "carry-oh-key" or Mount Everest as "ever-est". It's said that way so much that it's considered normal, but it's still completely wrong.

Yeah, since karaoke is Japanese, it's pronounced "ka-ra-oh-ke", regardless of what language it's being used in. Mount Everest is literally named after a guy, so that's why its pronounced that way.

Don't listen to the guy who thinks that parents aren't able to name their kids what they want.
