How do humans even survive that? Serious question. I've never experienced temperatures below 0 C.

By minimizing time spent outside and covering as much skin as you possibly can with heavy clothing when you do have to be out. In general, though, you do get acclimatized to a certain extent. Not usually to extremes like that, since those are very seriously dangerous temperatures, but if you're used to cold winters -10 or -20 can be brushed off pretty comfortably.

It's also important to note that if you do need to go anywhere, you generally should start your vehicle 10 minutes before you leave to get it warmed up. If it's below -20, you should have your vehicle plugged in because otherwise it might not start.

I didn't have my truck plugged in when it got to -30 a few days ago, and it started but it really didn't sound good. I've had it plugged in all night and I'm about to go outside to start it. At these temperatures there is still no guarantee.
