How many great artists have we had since Picasso or Van Gogh?

Thousands of more talented people are probably slowly dying working in factories or something atm.

Kind of the nature of creative endeavors, tbh. Tons of talented people out there, but only a select few ever get their due.

That's one of the major benefits of a basic guaranteed income. Talented people have to eat until they hopefully get noticed, which means working unrelated jobs instead of being able to focus on developing their talent and getting noticed. With a basic income, that's no longer the case.

The problem with basic guaranteed income is that you'd have a million wannabe artists and nobody to do society's actual work. Right now we have more people who want to be artists than who could feasibly support themselves, but it's balanced out by the fact that they take day jobs.
