Some honorable mentions include: Eragon/Inheritance Cycle - As much as I liked the books I had a few issues which prevent it from being a top pick. Six Wakes - Pretty intriguing concept. Dragon's Blood and Heart's Blood - Read these a long time ago and only just recently realized there was actually four books in the series. Dragon of the Lost Sea series - Really enjoyed these.
