The problem with it was the reliance on stereotypes over original characters. Here's one for you: https://www.damninteresting.com/the-baader-meinhof-phenomenon/ Baader-Meinhof is the phenomenon where one stumbles upon some obscure piece of informationoften an unfamiliar word or nameand soon afterwards encounters the same subject again, often repeatedly. I am unfamiliar with Blackface as it seems to have only become an issue recently. I can't think of a genuine example of it occurring in entertainment for the past 30 years. Yet it seems to keep popping up in other places and getting disproportionate reactions. I don't see a problem with it. The only conclusion I can reach is that there is a modern fallacy to conflate a character as representing everyone belonging to the race that character is associated with (ie people being racist). --- No locked doors, no windows barred.
