Some of them don't even involve all that much farming or town-socializing, which is like, the entire premise of these games. (Instead it's all dungeon crawling and dating sim, which while a perfectly acceptable niche, it's not really Harvest Moon persay.) Not sure how true that actually is though, the last HM games I played were Friends/More Friends of Mineral Town and I enjoyed those just fine. Though it probably helped that my first HM game was Harvest Moon 64, so I might just be biased when it comes to any game that features those particular town folk.
