Is it easy to get western food? And also, is it really as safe as they say?? I'm not sure I understand your first question. Community between who? People are generally very welcoming and polite and I've met a lot that have taken an interest in me/want to talk to me just because I'm a gaijin lmao. That still doesn't mean it's necessarily easy to make friends, but my sitatuation was a little different because I went to an American school so all the Japanese people obviously wanted to or at least were indifferent to making friends with non-Japanese people. In Tokyo yes, there's everything. I had a great soul food place run by a black couple from Atlanta right by me as well as a Mexican restaurant. Definitely, I've never once felt unsafe or heard of anyone I know in a bad situation. All my female friends say they feel totally fine walking around alone at night. Jswift254 posted...
