Topic	Why has nobody made a better 3D platformer/collectathon than Banjo-Tooie?

I'm a huge n64 and Rare fanboy and DK64 was fun at the time, but was almost a chore to complete. Tried playing it again a couple years ago and just couldn't do it. Gameplay is clunky and it just doesn't feel polished like BK or BT (both of which I recently beat in the last two years and thoroughly enjoyed).
