Depends where you are. In Canada, 'Native' used to be pretty popular, but has since picked up a negative connotation (and 'Native American' was never used because of the confusion between that and 'American' as in the country).

Indian is almost never used, except in some official buildings and programs.

Generally, the best terms are Indigenous or First Nations, although First Nations generally refers to people who are descended from one of the 'First Nations' and that means it can sometimes exclude Metis and Inuit.

Some groups also just use their group name (such as Cree, Salteaux, Blackfoot, or Inuit).
