He's already been tried in the court of public opinion and lost. His name is being scrubbed from virtually everything he's associated with. He's one of the founders of Miramax and is basically no longer allowed to work in the industry again. So even if he escapes jail time, his legacy is dead and people know him to be a scumbag. The point is, there's a certain perverse satisfaction to watching someone be destroyed by the monster they helped create (and I use the word monster in the narrative sense).
