It wont be like the movies where both people are slowly circling each other and taking occasional swings. Dude with the knife will charge at you and be slashing and stabbing and will likely be ON TOP of you, leaving you virtually no room to strike. Even if you do hit him before he pounces on you, hes not going to be phased due to adrenaline, just like how you probably wont even feel the stabs and cuts until the fight is over. Assuming you can get away from him and hit him in a vital area, and assuming he failed to hit zero vital areas, youve still been stabbed and cut several times in that first couple of seconds and will be losing a lot of blood. Doesnt seem like a win to me. And if it were a random unprovoked attack on the street and you just happen to be carrying a bat in your hands, unless knife dude is an idiot, you wont even know he has a knife until hes already done his damage. --- ...
