#29 Overall Picks

DT Orien Harris (S2 by Rams)
LT Tavo Tupola (S3 by Bengals)
HB Marshawn Lynch (S4 by Jaguars)
DT Charles Alexander (S5 by Jets)
QB Ryan Perrilloux (S6 by Broncos)
SS Antoine Bethea (S7 by Dolphins)
DT Domata Peko (S8 by Falcons)

Alexander > Lynch > Harris > Bethea > Peko > Tupola > Perrilloux

Alexander has only been a starter for three seasons, but he had 130 tackles, 23 sacks, and 12 FFs during that span. He's learned from one of B8NFLL's best in Casey Hampton and looks to continue that in the post-Hampton era, whenever that may be.

A surprise first round pick, Lynch is arguably the ultimate insurance policy at HB in the league. He hasn't had a great career by any means with a 3.8 career YPC and basically no skills as a receiver, but he hasn't fumbled in the past four seasons and has 12 TDs in 14 career starts. I don't know how much longer the Jags can keep him happy as a backup, but they've certainly reaped the benefits of such an accommodating HB that would have started for so many teams during his career.

Harris has been the full-time starter three seasons in his long career with the Rams. Only once did he eclipse 4 sacks (12 in S3). That being said, I would say that he is a sack specialist, a rarity for DTs, as he averages 1 sack every 4 tackles in his career. He doesn't appear to have any other skill based on his FF and FR career totals. That is a terrible for a starter but seems like the perfect kind of backup DT if you ask me.

Unlike most starting SSs, Bethea has lower-than-average tackles and just 1 INT in his career. He did put up a whopping 6 FFs+FRs in his first season as a starter. As the defense looks to have three new starters for the second-consecutive season, he will need to help out the defending champs by taking it a step further, assuming he doesn't lose his starting job to second-year man Isa Abdul-Quddus.

The lowest-rated 1st round pick a season ago, Peko put up a respectable 5 sacks for both the Falcons and Titans. That Titans' D makes anyone nervous, but on paper, this appears to be the strongest it has been in several seasons. If this is the season the Titans finally become a league-average defense, Peko might find himself as a long-term starter than the career backup you would normally see sub-80 DTs have.

Tupola has averaged 20 blocks a season. If you take away his rookie season where he was the starting RT, then he has averaged 15 blocks a season as a backup/injury replacement. You can get that production in later rounds. He's a bust plain and simple.

In three seasons, Perrilloux has played 11 games. The longest he has made it through a season before suffering a season-ending injury is Week 6. He has a career 52.5 passer rating and 5 TDs against 13 INTs. He remarkably has never fumbled as a scrambling QB, but that's the only positive to take away from his career. He clearly has the worst career thus far, but with plenty of time to turn into a starting-caliber QB, he can quickly pass the likes of Tupola, Peko, and Harris.
