Both of the movies had references to him possibly being a replicant if you take them in a certain way. While it's a more believable hint in the first one, it doesn't fit much in 2049 with Deckard being old. I think Jared Leto's character was either speaking about religion/destiny/aliens or just trying to fuck with Deckard. Some people could try to ass-pull and claim that this Deckard isn't the same one as in the original movie or some other plot-holish shit, but I'd see that as bad writing. I think that it was mostly a reference to the long-running Deckard Replicant theory more than an actual plot point. ---
