Story-wise, you do
You do all this stuff around the world to save the Gorons, save the Zora band people, save Romani ranch, etc., but you know that you're eventually going to rewind and lose all of that. You can't save everyone, and it's very unlikely that when you get all 4 giant masks, you just call the song and go to the final boss without bothering to save anyone during the last cycle, so that's kind of sad to think about.
Is it possible to do all the sidequests in a single cycle once you have all items?
