Topic	So it appears I'm on the market for new anti-virus... Kaspersky woes...

And to be honest, as Tappor and Hangman said, any decent computer user shouldn't need antivirus in the first place. So if you were actually using any anti-virus and still had your computer completely lock up then it likely would have made zero difference whether it was a free antivirus or $100/month.
