I don't see what's the problem with that. There is no problem in and of itself that sociology might bring awareness to those issues. But when you have entire majors, for example gender studies, being completely dominated not even by liberals, but straight up Marxists and other radicals you can't be completely surprised that political biases are passed off as foundational assumptions of the field of study.
