Secondly, while Diamond and Pearl were flawed but enjoyable, Platinum fixed pretty much every single problem people had with those games and is one of the best games in the series. Then you throw in Heart Gold and Soul Silver, which were also gen 4 and are by far the best remakes the series has made, and 4th gen is easily one of the best overall. If we're not counting remakes with their respective gens, then yeah, 4th gen isn't the best. But if remakes are counted, then 4th gen is arguably the best one. vicedungwinsgam posted... I think the original G/S/C were fun games, but they were also very glitchy and unstable ones like R/B/Y. The gameplay is dated as well. The level balancing was the biggest flaw in the Johto games, which is the one flaw that HG/SS didn't fix from the original... I shouldn't be fighting Pokemon below level 20 on my way to the 7th gym badge. I'd personally rank G/S/C somewhere in the middle of the pack, but there are harsher critics than me out there.
