Honestly, if you're a reasonably competent, intelligent person, you'd be better off as any other race since you'd get access to affirmative action programs -- except maybe Asians, because college affirmative action programs count against them. You'd also have access to race-targeted grants and scholarships.

Think about this way: There are countless highly qualified whites and Asians trying to get into the same universities, businesses, etc. However, the competition is less fierce among other races. In a truly colorblind society, that wouldn't matter because candidates would be selected solely based on academic merits (which favors Asians, not whites). In our current society, that means you technically don't need to attain as much.

Amusingly, this has led to widespread lying when it comes to race on college admission forms where the old racist "one-drop" rule is used by students who might have a minority great-great-grandparent to claim that minority status. And, in the case of Asians, it's more a matter of concealing their Asian heritage
